We are all at our best when we can tap into an abundance of energy—and when that energy follows a smooth, undisrupted path through our bodies. Our Energy Channel Board helps restore balance to the 12 principal meridians that channel energy, or qi (pronounced chi) through the body.

In ancient medicine, Meridians have two main purposes. One is to circulate and distribute energy to organs, glands, brain, limbs, bones, and other tissues of the body. The other is to send warning signals back to the brain whenever an organ is compromised or an area of the body, over which a meridian passes, is injured. The brain then responds by triggering healing and repair mechanisms via the nervous system.

By actively engaging in a series of carefully designed exercises using our one-of-a-kind Energy Channel Board, you will restore and maintain peak levels of energy flow, aiding with:

  • Improved Balance and Coordination
  • Help with Injury Rehabilitation
  • Injury Prevention, Especially for the Ankles

Meridian Balancing is also Effective for:

  • Anxiety & Nervousness
  • Calming the Central Nervous System
  • Emotional Imbalance
  • Kundalini Imbalance
  • Vertigo

Exercises and Instructions

Exercise 1: Warm-up

An anti-aging exercise to open your meridians with an abundant flow of Qi and blood. It stretches tendons and unclogs your du and bladder meridians which improves the downward flow of Qi.

  • Remove shoes and step on standing board.
  • Place toes together with heels apart in an inverted V-shape.
  • Keep shoulders and elbows relaxed and straight up the body. You will feel a strong stretch around the back of legs.
  • Breathe deeply for 30 seconds

Exercise 2

This exercise stretches the large intestine and lung meridians to improve function of the respiratory system and to help maintain regularity.

  • Stand straight with feet in an inverted-V position.
  • Hold your tongue to your palate and take deep and steady breaths.
  • With palms upward, slowly lift your arms up until your hands reach over your head.
  • Clasp hands together with index fingers pointed up like holding a “sword” with arms held close to ears, feeling energy flow to the tips of the index fingers.
  • Slowly lean backward stretching your head, neck, back and waist to the limit of stability. Inhale while stretching. When stretched to your limit exhale and stay still while repeating breaths 10 times.
  • Return to start position and relax.

Exercise 3

Improves circulation through the stretching of the kidney and bladder meridians which helps alleviate waist and back pain.

  • Keep feet in the same inverted position.
  • Hold tongue to palate and take deep and steady breaths.
  • Bend forward allowing arms to reach the floor naturally.
  • Relax your body, shoulders, neck and head by wiggling your hips several times.
  • Breathe naturally allowing your arms to reach down a bit further with each exhale.
  • When at your maximum reach, hold your position for three minutes.
  • Stand up slowly and return to a standing position.

Exercise 4

Enhances the cardiovascular system including the heart, small intestine meridians and their collaterals and tendons. Also improves the free flow of the pericardium meridian while controlling dispersal of heart heat which is calming to the body.

  • Separate your feet to shoulder-width in an inverted-V.
  • Hold tongue to palate and take deep and steady breaths.
  • Lift your left arm in front of your face with upper arm parallel to ground and right hand in front of belly button.
  • Keep your eyes focused on your palm while moving your palm and upper body to the left (move upper body only, keep belly button pointed forward) twisting as far as you can.
  • Hold for three to five seconds.
  • Return to neutral center position, slowly switching hand positions to repeat the exercise from the right side.
  • Repeat ten times each side.

Exercise 5

This is a gallbladder exercise to help disperse stagnated Qi from the liver while improving the circulation of both Qi and blood to the gallbladder meridian.

  • Keep feet shoulder-width apart in the inverted V-position.
  • Stand upright and hand your arms loosely to your side.
  • Hold tongue to palate and take deep and steady breaths.
  • Bend to the left reaching your left hand down along the side of your leg as far as possible. Bend to side only; do not lean forward or backward. Keep hips pointed forward.
  • At the same time, reach your right hand up along your body to your right armpit.
  • Allow your head to naturally tilt towards your left shoulder.
  • Hold for 3 to 5 seconds and return to start
  • Repeat ten times.

Exercise 6

Stretches and stimulates meridians for the kidneys, bladder, stomach and spleen. This exercise nourishes the kidneys and liver while strengthening the spleen and stomach to store kidney Qi essence.

  • Similar to exercise three but using different foot position.
  • Separate feet to shoulder width.
  • Hold tongue to palate and breath deep and steady.
  • Bend forward allowing your arms to reach down to the floor as far as possible.
  • Wiggle your hips several times which will lead to the relaxation of the shoulders, neck and head.
  • Breathe naturally allowing your arms to reach down a bit further with each e exhale.
  • When at maximum reach, hold your position for three minutes.
  • Stand up slowly, returning to a standing position.

Exercise 7

This exercise stretches the Du meridian; squeezes the Zang-Fu organs and effectively addresses chest wall tightness.

  • Standing on the board, turn around slowly to a standing position facing the opposite direction with feet together.
  • Drop both hands to your sides pointing your chin down with your mouth closed and tongue flat on your palate.
  • Starting with your head, slowly lean forward while bending your knees and lowering yourself into a squat position.
  • Wrap your arms around your knees.
  • Hold your head to your knees and remain in this position breathing normally for one minute.

Exercise 8

An exercise to encourage circulation of your blood and Qi.

  • Stand up and step off the board.
  • Gently pat your arms and legs which stimulates the circulation of blood and Qi.
  • Breathe deeply and relax.
