This journey to personal well-being will showcase a thoughtfully curated collection of experiences centered on self-care and nourishing cuisine—shared within a supportive community nestled into the placid Potomac River Valley.

All program activities are designed based on the latest research developments in the field of Traditional, Alternative and Complementary Medicine. This event can be attended either in-person or virtually.

Brian Hazelgren

Keynote Speaker

Brian brings over 30 years of professional experience in strategy development and execution, executive management, healthcare, entrepreneurship, motivational speaking and business mentoring. He is a globally recognized expert in business planning, corporate strategy, systems development, entrepreneurship, healthcare, corporate social responsibility and operations. Brian has written 14 highly successful books, including Accelerated Practice Growth for Physicians, and has trained more than 75,000 business executives and over 3,500 college students.

Hon K. Lee, LAc, Dipl.OM, DMQ, DAOM

A licensed acupuncturist, nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, Doctor of Medical Quigong and Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Hon Lee graduated from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Furthering his education, Lee completed clinical training at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and postgraduate studies in Chinese herbal medicine at the TAI Sophia Institute. He additionally studied Medical Qigong at the International College of Medical Qigong and earned his DAOM degree from the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine.

Edward Group III, DC, NP

In 1988, Dr. Edward F. Group III founded the Global Healing Center with the goal of providing the highest quality natural health information and products. Under his leadership, the Center earned recognition as one of the largest natural and organic health resources in the world. Dr. Group is a veteran of the United States Army and has attended both Harvard University and MIT business school. Internationally renowned for his research on the root cause of disease, Dr. Group is also a best-selling author and frequent contributor on radio and television programs, documentary films and in major publications.

Beth Shaw

As a visionary, entrepreneur and author, Beth Shaw has challenged industrialized wellness and paved the way for a passionate and responsible approach to health. She revolutionized the fitness industry by bringing yoga into the mainstream with her inclusive and impactful instructional style as well as exploring, researching and developing fitness and wellness programs for more than 25 years. As a philanthropist and animal activist, Beth prioritizes service in her professional and personal life, serving on numerous boards dedicated to health, wellness and animal advocacy.

Aihan Kuhn CMD, OBT

Dr. Kuhn is a healer, award-winning author and master of Tai Chi and QiGong who has devoted her life to serving people. For over 20 years she has helped thousands of patients—many of whom found no relief with conventional medicine—overcome physical ailments and emotional pain as well as improve their self-confidence, stress management, daily energy levels and personal relationships.

Lewis A. Hofmann, M.D.

Certified in medical hypnosis and acupuncture, Dr. Hofmann most recently developed acupuncture training programs for the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. Prior to that endeavor, he served as the senior flight surgeon on Air Force One as well as White House physician for the Vice President and Director, Vice Presidential Medical Operations. In this capacity, Dr. Hofmann provided comprehensive acupuncture care to the entire White House community for the first time in history.

Marcelle Hanish, FNP-BC, LAc

With dual licensure as a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Acupuncturist, Marcelle provides Outpatient Adult and Pediatric Care, Pain Management for Traumatic Injuries and Workman’s Compensation as well as management of chronic conditions. She is licensed in a variety of integrative therapeutic modalities, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and experienced in Acute and Chronic Mental Health, Substance Dependence and Detoxification. Proficient in Cosmetic Medical Aesthetics procedures and Med Spa Management, Marcelle additionally completed her accredited DOT certificate training program as a Certified Medical Examiner.

Mary Frances Hartley, MS, RD

After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Auburn University in Alabama, Mary Frances completed her coordinated Masters and Dietetic Internship program at East Carolina University. Her professional experience includes prenatal, postpartum and infant nutrition as well as a range of needs in relation to Type 2 Diabetes, IBS and more. Mary Frances has seen the damage that chronic dieting can do to clients first-hand and is confident in a non-diet approach to help people heal their relationship with food while simultaneously adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors.
