With the New Year upon us, it is normal to focus on new beginnings and goals for the year ahead. It’s the perfect time to both reflect – and look forward. At Dejia Harmony, one thing we want most for you in 2022 is to find ways to lead a healthier, more peaceful and satisfying life. In this post, we are going to take you through five easy ways to bring more balance and harmony into your life in the New Year.
Find ways to disconnect
One of the problems with our modern society is that we rarely take the time to rest. Our schedules are over booked, and we find ourselves always on the go. We’re attached to our phones and laptops, and we simply do not take the time to relax.
The good news? You hold the controls to your life. You have the power to turn off your phone for several hours. Choose to disconnect on the weekend entirely, or at least for one full day. Turn your computer off and put your phone down. It is important to give your brain time to rest, and screen-free time is especially important toward the end of the day to encourage a full night’s rest. In the New Year, we challenge you to practice putting away the distractions and spend some time relaxing, unwinding and being fully present with your friends and family.
Practice self-discipline
Self-discipline may seem like the opposite of balance but that just is not the case. Self-discipline is one of the best tools you have to help you stay organized and on top of life’s demands. If you do not have self-discipline, you end up procrastinating, inefficient and sometimes even failing to follow through with commitments. That lack of follow-through can often make us feel guilty, overwhelmed, and unbalanced.
Therefore, for a more balanced and harmonious year ahead, we recommend spending some time learning about yourself, and understanding the areas where you may lack self-discipline. Where or how can you make adjustments in your life that will make a difference? Try setting better personal boundaries, getting clear on your priorities, and lowering your distractions. This can help you to have more clarity so that you can focus on the things that really do matter.
Remember that balance is an ongoing process
It is important to remember that balance is an ongoing process, rather than being a final goal. Being balanced does not mean being content, relaxed, and calm all of the time. Balance can often happen for a fleeting moment, but it can reappear again and again. As opposed to trying to stay balanced all of the time, think of yourself as someone who practices balance and harmony, over and over again.
Often, yoga teachers refer to yoga as a “practice” – this means the goal is to continue practicing yoga, rather than to simply be great at it and perfect it. You have probably heard the sentiment that it can be good to fail – because then you know you were trying. This is the case with life in general. As long as you remain dedicated and you continue to practice finding balance, you will find it. Even if you lose it for a moment, you will have the skills and confidence to be sure that you find it again.
Set both short and long-term goals
Last but not least, we highly recommend setting both short and long-term objectives. In the business world, this is known as tactics and strategy. Tactics refer to the short-term goals that you use to help you get to your long-term objective, which is the strategy. When it comes to setting both your long-term and short-term goals, be clear and specific.
For instance, let’s say you want to make it as a successful writer. You may have a short-term goal about getting your first article published online or completing a creative writing course. You then need to break down this goal into even smaller steps – for example, joining a writing group or writing for 30 minutes each day.
This is something that we can apply to all areas of our lives. When we set ourselves long-term, large goals, which seem incredibly far away – it can become overwhelming and difficult to manage. Breaking your goals up into smaller, more manageable tasks not only keeps you focused and ensures your life is balanced but it also means you will continue to feel motivated and stay on track with your overall goal.
Focus on ways to improve your overall wellness and immune system
With the state of the world, it is natural to spend more time focusing on our health, wellness – and our body’s ability to fight off illnesses. The good news is that many of the same choices that will help bring harmony to your life, also improve your body’s immune system. Exercise, increased water intake, and reduced stress all impact your immune system. Exercise improves circulation and reduces inflammation. Even moderate but regular exercise strengthens your immune system. When we are stressed, our immune system’s ability to fight off antigens is reduced. Meditation and yoga are both able to reduce anxiety levels.
Even if you don’t have time for all the above, there are ways to boost your immune system naturally. You can also incorporate Immune Boosting ingredients into your daily life. Our natural, gluten-free supplement supports full-body functions by helping to restore balance in your body. Dejia’s Respiratory Detox Supplement, or RDS, is our immune-boosting liquid herbal supplement with 10 super food ingredients such as elderberry juice, ginseng root, honeycomb, licorice root, and much more.
